Privacy Policy

VoltInvoice (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a user of the VoltInvoice mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

VoltInvoice is designed with privacy in mind. Most data never leaves your device.

• Invoice data — invoices you create (client names, amounts, line items) are stored entirely on your device using local storage. We do not transmit or store your invoice data on our servers.
• Receipt images — when you use the receipt scanner, the photo is sent securely to OpenAI’s API for AI-powered text extraction (OCR). The image is processed and then discarded; it is not stored by OpenAI beyond the duration of the API request, in accordance with OpenAI’s data usage policies.
• Subscription information — if you purchase a VoltInvoice Pro subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS) and managed by RevenueCat. We receive only a subscription status indicator; we do not receive or store your payment card details.
• Promo codes — if you redeem a promo code, the code string is sent to our server for validation. No personally identifying information is transmitted.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require account registration or an email address to use the app.
• We do not collect your location.
• We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.
• We do not use analytics SDKs that profile your behaviour.

3. Third-Party Services

VoltInvoice uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI Used to process receipt images with GPT-4o Vision for OCR text extraction. OpenAI Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat Used to manage in-app subscription purchases and entitlements. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Google Play / Apple App Store Used to process subscription payments. Subject to their respective privacy policies.

4. Camera & Photo Library

VoltInvoice requests access to your camera and photo library solely to enable receipt scanning. Images captured or selected are transmitted to OpenAI for OCR processing and are not stored by VoltInvoice. You may deny this permission at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app will continue to function normally.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your invoice data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data. We do not retain copies of your invoice data on any server. Subscription status information held by RevenueCat is subject to their retention policies.

6. Children’s Privacy

VoltInvoice is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers (including OpenAI and RevenueCat) is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Locally stored data is protected by your device’s own security mechanisms.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Since most data is stored only on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by managing or uninstalling the app. For any questions about data held by our third-party processors, please contact us.
